Mr. Weathering Sponge Big (Gunze)

A weathering sponge from the Japanese brand Gunze in a large version. The flexible, durable material picks up and spreads pigments and paint evenly, so it suits a quick and naturally irregular aging of a surface. The large variant is intended for treating larger areas such as vehicle hulls, wings or fuselages.

Use

• Dab the sponge into pigment, weathering paste or thinned paint.
• Tap off the excess so that only a minimum of material is left on the sponge.
• Apply an irregular texture of scuffs, dust or rust by tapping lightly.
• It also suits the chipping technique, where it creates a naturally random pattern.

Who it is for

For modelers of military vehicles, aircraft and dioramas who want to suggest wear quickly and convincingly over more extensive areas. The smaller variant of the sponge is better suited to narrow and recessed places.

This is a tool, not a paint. After use, rinse the sponge in the appropriate thinner for the type of paint you have used, so that it does not harden.
