Primus Death, The Dark Executioner is a fantasy figure 35 mm in size from the Rage of Ages range by AK Interactive: an unpainted casting for painters who want to play with a dark palette.
Responsibility details are not available.
A standalone collectible figure from the Rage of Ages fantasy range. It is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model; what you buy is a casting that you assemble, paint and place in a display case or on a gaming table. The 35 mm denotes the nominal height of the character, not a scale. The range is cast in resin, so small elements such as the edges of the hood, the straps and the blade have a sharper rendering than is usual with injection-molded plastic.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry thoroughly. Cut the remains of the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a saw and level the mold parting seams with a scalpel drawn at right angles to the modeling, because a file is a coarse tool at this size. Bond the parts with cyanoacrylate glue and then fill the joint with modeling putty, which holds well on resin. Do not breathe in the dust raised by sanding; work wet instead.
A dark subject is a trap: paint the whole figure black or dark purple and it merges into a shapeless silhouette in the display case. Start therefore from a colored base that is not pure black, since a very dark blue-gray or brown works well, because highlights can be built on them without the result going gray. Shape the volume by progressively brightening the edges and the upper surfaces, ideally in two or three steps with heavily thinned paint. A few warm accents, for example the metal of the blade or light in the eyes, give the figure a focal point. Finally, even the surface out with a matte varnish and leave gloss deliberately only where it makes sense.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
