External auxiliary fuel tanks for the Soviet T-55 and T-62 tanks in 1:72 scale. A small accessory for the rear of the hull.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cylindrical auxiliary fuel tanks on the rear of the hull are one of the features by which the Soviet T-55 and T-62 tanks are recognized at first glance. They were carried in simple straps and increased the fuel supply. They were unprotected, so on vehicles in the field they tended to be dented, rusted or missing altogether.
The set brings auxiliary fuel tanks for the T-55 and T-62 in 1:72 scale. In this scale these are very small parts that replace the simplified shapes from a plastic kit and bring more legible bands and a clean cylindrical body.
Take the parts out over a mat or a bowl so you do not lose them, and work with tweezers. The material is not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement does not work. Use a thin cyanoacrylate in small amounts, otherwise it runs over and floods the surrounding detail. Degrease the surfaces before painting and lay down a thin coat of base color. Keep the weathering fine in 1:72 scale; a glaze into the shadows and a light emphasis on the edges is enough. Suggest the caps and the bands with a fine brush and a dark shade, as a heavy line coarsens in this scale.
The set suits builders of armored vehicles in 1:72 scale who are finishing a T-55 or T-62 model and want to keep a clean shape even on the small parts at the rear of the hull.
The package holds only the stated accessory. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
