A finished metal model of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in its early form, with the markings of the Leningrad Front of 1942, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The KV-1 was a Soviet heavy tank whose armor in 1941 resisted most of the German antitank guns of the day. It carried a 76.2 mm gun, weighed around forty-five tons and ran on torsion bar suspension with six road wheels on each side. The designation Model 1940 refers to the early production form from the first year of series manufacture, that is to a machine without the later changes to the turret and the armor.
The model is rendered in the markings of a tank brigade on the Leningrad Front in 1942. Leningrad had a special place in the story of the KV: tanks of this family were built in the Kirov Works there and some of them went into action practically straight from the production hall, before manufacture moved into the interior. The besieged city then kept the vehicles running with whatever was at hand.
This is a finished collector model, not a kit. From the factory it is assembled, painted and provided with printed markings, and the metal form gives it a weight plastic kits do not have. Once unpacked it is enough to stand it in a display case.
The model is supplied finished and is not meant for any further assembly. A display case, a base and figures are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
