A finished metal model of a captured Soviet KV-2 tank in German service under the designation PzKpfw KW II 754(r), 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The KV-2 is among the most conspicuous tanks of the Second World War. On the chassis of the Soviet KV heavy tank it carries a tall, angular turret with a 152 mm howitzer, which makes it a machine for demolishing fortifications rather than for tank duels. The combination of massive armor and a turret the size of a small room gave it a silhouette nothing else has.
The German army commonly took captured vehicles onto its own strength and designated them with a number and a suffix for the country of origin, hence PzKpfw KW II 754(r) for a captured KV-2. The model is rendered in the markings of the unit Panzer-Kompanie (z.b.V.) 66, that is a company for special employment that the Germans put together for the planned landing on Malta. Captured tanks in German colors are among the most interesting subjects for collectors' display cases, precisely because they join two sides of a conflict in one vehicle.
This is a finished collector model rather than a kit. From the factory it is assembled, painted and provided with printed markings; once unpacked it is enough to stand it in a display case.
The model is supplied finished and is not meant for any further assembly. A display case, a base and figures are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
