A finished metal model of the Cromwell IV command tank of the 1st Polish Armoured Division of General Stanislaw Maczek, the year 1944, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Cromwell was a British cruiser tank built for speed. It combined the Rolls-Royce Meteor engine, derived from the Merlin aero V12, with Christie suspension and large road wheels, and the Mk.IV version added a 75 mm gun to that. The angular boxy hull and the low turret make it a machine you will not mistake for anything else.
The command form served the commander of a unit for directing the fighting. The difference from a combat machine did not lie in the armament but in the equipment for communications: a commander needed to keep radio contact with his subordinate units and with the higher level at the same time. The model carries the markings of the 1st Polish Armoured Division of General Stanislaw Maczek of 1944. The division went through the Normandy campaign and its name is connected above all with the closing of the Falaise pocket, where the Polish crews held their positions while surrounded.
This is a finished collector model, not a kit. From the factory it is assembled, painted and provided with printed markings; once unpacked it is enough to stand it in a display case.
The model is supplied finished and is not meant for any further assembly. A display case, a base, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
