A kit of the Italian Ansaldo SVA-5 biplane of the First World War in 1:32 scale, the release marked PREMIUM.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ansaldo SVA-5 was created in an Italian arms works as a fighter biplane, but it made its name elsewhere: it was fast, it stayed in the air for a long time and it therefore suited reconnaissance far behind the front. The structure was wooden and between the wings it carried W-shaped struts, which took the place of the usual bracing wires. Power came from a water-cooled inline six-cylinder SPA engine. The type went down in history with the long-distance flight over Vienna in August 1918, when the machines dropped leaflets instead of bombs, and it stayed in service long after the war ended.
The word PREMIUM sets this release apart from other releases of the same aircraft. What exactly the package holds and which markings it offers is stated in the manufacturer's instructions, so look into them before you choose between the individual releases.
The large scale shows even the small things that would disappear at a smaller size, but it shows a crooked strut just as mercilessly. First clear the parts of excess material, sand the mating surfaces and dry-fit the whole thing. Set the upper wing in place on a flat board so that it stands parallel to the lower one; anyone who helps themselves with temporary cardboard supports will save a great deal of frustration. Wash and degrease the surface before painting.
The kit will please a modeler with a taste for First World War aircraft, who will appreciate the large scale and does not mind a slower pace of building. Paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
