A detail set from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. According to the manufacturer it holds blanking plugs for the air intakes, the exhaust nozzles, the nose and the wingtips, which protect the aircraft from foreign objects, dust and dirt getting in, and further wheel chocks for securing a parked aircraft. The manufacturer lists it for the Su-25 as well as for the upgraded versions.
From the start the Su-25 operated from forward and unpaved surfaces, where there is the most dust and the most small stones. Plugging the intakes and the nozzles was therefore not a formality but a condition for the engine surviving the next start-up. Besides the intakes and the nozzles, on this type the sensors in the nose and on the wingtips were covered as well. On the apron the wheels were secured with chocks.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pad. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. In practice the plugs were painted in conspicuous warning shades, most often red, and often carried ribbons with lettering, so on an otherwise gray model they catch the eye at once. The chocks under the wheels used to be wooden or rubber. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
