The boarding ladder for the MiG-25 in 1:72 is a printed ground crew accessory for airfield dioramas. It is not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A piece of ground equipment in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models, printed from photopolymer. The manufacturer intends it for work during the ground servicing of aircraft and for the crew getting in and out, that is mainly for dioramas on an aviation theme. An aircraft model is not included in the package.
The MiG-25 is an exceptionally large and tall aircraft whose cockpit and engine section both sit well above the ground. Without a boarding ladder the pilot could not get into the cockpit and the technicians had no way to check the avionics or the powerplants. In photographs from Soviet airfields a ladder is therefore seldom missing beside this type, and on a model it gives away the scale of the whole scene at once.
The parts are printed from photopolymer and are held on thin print supports. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel and sand the pad. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Once a filler primer is laid down, a dark wash into the recesses of the structure and fine chipping on the edges of the steps will stand out. Hold the small parts with tweezers and work over a mat with a raised edge. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
