The set brings 3D printed service steps for the Su-24 in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. The manufacturer describes them as equipment for work during the ground servicing of aircraft. It is not a model of an aircraft but a piece of airfield equipment that stands by the cockpit on the apron and without which neither the crew nor the technicians can get to the aircraft.
The Su-24 is a tactical bomber with a crew of two sitting side by side. The cockpit is high above the ground and access to it and to the upper part of the fuselage is handled with steps wheeled up to it. On the apron several people move around the aircraft at once, because the airframe is being checked, the fuel topped up and the weapons loaded all at the same time, so the steps are among the first things brought up to the aircraft after landing.
The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Ground equipment is brought to life by a dark wash run into the recesses and by drybrushing on the edges.
The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
