A resin airfield standing ladder for the two-seat Su-27UB in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The two-seat version has a longer and differently shaped cockpit than the single-seater, so the ladder looks different too and the manufacturer makes it as a separate item. The set is printed in resin and is meant for the flight line or an airfield scene; it is not an aircraft model.
The Su-27UB is the two-seat training and combat version of the heavy fighter, with the instructor sitting behind the student in a raised rear cockpit. The canopy is therefore longer and taller, which also changes the way the crew get to the aircraft. The ground crew bring the ladder up beside the side of the fuselage and take it away again once both pilots are aboard.
Cut the parts off the supports with a new blade; the thin rungs break easily. Level the marks with fine abrasive paper, wet and with respiratory protection. Assemble the structure on a flat surface and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. The metal structure tends to be worn down to bare metal, so it is worth suggesting chipping and settling dust on the feet.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
