The Weathering Magazine is a magazine series from AMMO devoted to weathering, that is to turning a clean model into a machine with a history behind it. Every issue keeps to one theme and works through it on particular models step by step. Issue 35 is built around gray, a color that is surprisingly demanding on a model, because it easily sinks into a uniform area with no depth.
The text is in English. The techniques are presented as a picture sequence, so even with a basic knowledge of the language you can follow what happens to the model at each step and what material achieved it.
It suits the modeler who already manages the build and the basic spray finish and is looking for how to take the surface of a model further. The techniques described are not tied to one field; they apply to military vehicles, to aircraft and to a diorama, because they work through the principle rather than a single particular model. The magazine also reads well as a source of ideas before you start planning your own color scheme and the degree of wear on a model.
