S-25-OF unguided rocket, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the heavy Soviet unguided rocket with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet 240 mm unguided aircraft rocket in the version with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print holds the thin fins and the detail of the warhead and the nozzle.
The S-25 family is the heaviest Soviet unguided aircraft rocket and, because of its 240 mm caliber, it is hung singly on a pylon. The version marked with the letters OF carries a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, which acts both by blast and by fragments, so it reaches a wider range of targets than the purely fragmentation version. The rockets were carried by attack and fighter-bomber aircraft and by attack helicopters. It was one of the most effective unguided weapons of its day.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
