The aircraft of American units in China, Burma, India and the Pacific in the Second World War. Olive, brown, two grays, greens and aluminum, 17 ml each, for an airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
The US Army Air Forces fought in Asia in two very different settings. Transport and bomber machines crossed the Himalayan ridge between India and China, while to the east of them the island advance across the Pacific was going on. One finish joined both: an olive green spine, a gray underside and, on machines sent later, bare metal as well, because camouflage was gradually given up.
That whole development is covered by eight bottles, each carrying seventeen milliliters. According to the number series the paints are formulated for an airbrush, that is fine and thinner.
The metal tone is laid onto a smooth, well-smoothed ground, or the marks left by sanding will stand out. With the remaining shades the usual preparation is enough. For sharp transitions between the olive and the gray, masking with a raised edge suits, and it is not in the package. It pays to count on the machines in the tropical belt fading quickly, so the base coat is usually followed by a lightening of the centers of the areas. The set holds neither varnish nor thinner.
