About product

Mr.Hobby Weathering Gouache — Burnt Umber

A water-thinnable gouache-type weathering paint in a tube. The dark brown Burnt Umber shade is the base for effects of dried dirt and earth, for shading recesses and for hinting at corrosion. The paint has none of the pungent smell of solvents, so it is comfortable to work with indoors as well.

Use

  • Thin it with water or with the thinner recommended by the manufacturer, according to the intensity you want.
  • Thinned down it acts as a wash that flows into the detail; thicker it works as direct grime.
  • Combine it with the lighter shades of the range for layered, natural transitions.
  • Ideal on chassis and running gear, on panel gaps, exhausts and worn surfaces of vehicles and dioramas.

Who it is for

Suitable for modelers at all levels who want to weather their models safely and without aggressive thinners. Thanks to the water base and the option of reworking, it forgives beginners' mistakes.

Keep out of reach of children. Work in a ventilated area and protect your skin and eyes.

FAQ

It is a dark brown base for dried grime, for shading recesses and for hinting at corrosion on models and dioramas.

Thin it with water or with the thinner recommended by the manufacturer, depending on whether you want opaque grime or a fine wash.

Not necessarily: thanks to the water base, water is enough, and the manufacturer's dedicated thinner can be used for finer effects.
