Densely grown green tufts six millimeters high, thirty-five pieces ready to be stuck down.

The difference between a diorama that looks like a model and one that is believed is often made by the vegetation. A densely grown bank beside a field track or an unmown strip along a wall says more about a neglected place than the best weathering on a vehicle. It is grass of exactly that kind that this package brings.
The package holds thirty-five pieces six millimeters high. The tufts are noticeably denser than the ordinary form of the same height, so one piece makes up a compact clump rather than a sparse wisp of blades. The green tone matches grass in the full growing season, that is in late spring and summer.
The tufts are lifted off the backing film and laid on the place where they are to grow. If the adhesion on a rough surface is not enough, a drop of PVA glue or of thin cyanoacrylate glue under the base will help. They look natural when the size of the tufts is varied and when they are not set at regular intervals but in clumps around obstacles, at the feet of posts and along the ruts left by tracks.
It is worth looking at a photograph of a real place before setting them out. Vegetation holds on where nobody treads and where no oil runs: by walls, in the shelter behind posts, on embankments and in the hollows where water stands. In the middle of a worn track or under a standing vehicle, by contrast, it has no chance, and it is precisely that difference that makes a scene believable.
