A marker from the Gundam Marker line filled with white paint, the manufacturer's part number XGM01, with the shade listed under the name New White. The tip applies the paint directly, so there is no palette, no thinning and no setting up of an airbrush. That pays off on small items where preparing the paint would take longer than the painting itself.
White is used on a model differently from broad shades. Most often it goes on small areas and markings: warning stripes, numbers and insignia, light-colored covers, the eyes of figures or the boundary between two surfaces that is meant to read clearly. It also serves to repair a spot where a darker shade crept in during masking, without having to repaint the whole part because of it.
Shake the marker thoroughly before use, as light pigment settles to the bottom. Start the tip by pressing it several times on an offcut of plastic or on paper, and only then move to the model. Apply a thin coat, let it dry and add a second one if needed; going over a coat that has not dried wipes the paint away and leaves streaks.
The package contains the marker in the stated version. The model, further shades, clear coats and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the marker out of the reach of children.
