Aber Engrave plate (88 x 57 mm) – pattern 02 is a photo-etched brass embossing plate on which a modeler creates a textured surface in thin foil. It is neither a kit nor a finished part but a tool for repeated use.
Responsibility details are not available.
An embossing, or more precisely a stamping, plate of photo-etched brass from the Polish maker Aber. A regular pattern is etched into the face of the plate and works as a die: you lay thin material on the plate, burnish it and the motif is transferred onto its surface. The working area measures 88 x 57 mm without the surrounding frame. The plate is not built into a model; it stays with you as a tool for further projects.
Cut the material with some margin first, lay it face down on the pattern and fix it so that it does not shift during the work. Transfer the pattern gradually, in small strokes of a rounded burnisher or polisher, ideally on a soft mat that lets the material flow slightly into the recesses. With plastic foil gentle heating helps; with metal foil patient burnishing is enough. Only then trim the finished piece to its final size, otherwise the edges will ripple.
For modelers of military vehicles and diorama builders who want to create surfaces themselves instead of buying ready-made photo-etch, and for anyone who finds a stock of textured sheet in any quantity useful. The plate is tied neither to a particular scale nor to a particular kit.
This is a modeling tool, not a kit. Foil and material for transferring the pattern are not included in the package.
