Aber Engrave plate (88 x 57 mm) – pattern 03 is a photo-etched brass die with which you create your own textured sheet from thin foil. It is not a part of a model but a workshop tool.

A brass embossing plate from the Polish brand Aber with pattern number 03 etched into it. The principle is simple and as old as sheet-metal work: the plate serves as a form on which you lay thin material and burnish the pattern into it. The working area measures 88 x 57 mm without the frame. Once the work is done the plate stays untouched and you use it again.
You will get the best results on a soft mat, for example on hard rubber or on several layers of paper, because the material needs somewhere to give. A hard plate under the material merely squashes the pattern and the relief stays shallow. Work from the center toward the edges so that the foil does not crease. Plastic foil can be gently heated, after which it takes shape far more readily. We recommend degreasing the impressed part before gluing and only then laying down a base coat and paint, otherwise grease stays in the recesses of the pattern.
For modelers of trucks and utility vehicles, diorama builders and everyone who wants textured sheet to hand in unlimited quantity and in exactly the shape they need. Modelers who build older kits with simplified surfaces and want to bring them up to today's level will value it too.
This is a modeling tool, not a kit. Foil and other material for transferring the pattern are not included in the package.
