Aber Engrave plate (88 x 57 mm) – pattern 07 is a brass etched plate on which you impress a regular texture into thin foil. A tool for modelers who make their parts themselves.
Responsibility details are not available.
An embossing plate of etched brass from the Polish maker Aber, marked with pattern number 07. It is used as a die: you lay thin material on the pattern, burnish it and the relief is transferred into it. The working area measures 88 x 57 mm without the surrounding frame. The plate stays a permanent part of your workshop; what ends up on the model is only the material you have worked on it.
On railway and construction models a longer strip of texture is often needed. Cut the material into strips and impress them one after another, always with a small overlap so that the pattern follows on. Mark the edges out before cutting, as measuring is harder once the impression is made. If you are working with plastic foil, leave it weighted down for a while after burnishing so that it does not return to its original shape. An impressed surface takes pigments and rusty shades splendidly, as they settle in the recesses.
For railway and diorama modelers, builders of industrial scenes and anyone who needs textured sheet in larger quantity and in sizes of their own. The plate is not used up by the work, so a single one serves across many builds.
This is a modeling tool, not a kit. Foil and paints are not included in the package.
