A scenic accessory for dioramas: a mixture of dry leaves in a composition matching the European landscape. It serves to create fallen leaves on the ground.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fallen leaves are one of the details that give a diorama its season. A bare area with grass looks indefinite, whereas a layer of leaves at the roots of trees, in a ditch or in ruts cut into mud tells the viewer at first glance that the scene is set in autumn. This mixture is listed as European, so the range of shapes matches the broadleaf trees of the temperate zone.
A loose mixture of elements imitating dry leaves. The quantity, the material and the size of the individual elements are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; before buying, compare them with the scale of your diorama. The leaves can be used on flat areas as well as on model trees, and in a smaller scale they serve rather as fine debris scattered through the undergrowth.
Paint the area first and let it dry, and only then apply the leaves, because paint put on over them would glue them into a uniform layer. Coat the base with white glue thinned with water and a drop of dish soap, sprinkle the leaves from above and let them fall freely. Apply them in layers and vary the density: more at the foot of a tree and in hollows, almost none on paths and on trodden places. Once dry, tap or vacuum the surplus off. Break up the uniformity of color with a light breath of a darker and a lighter shade from a distance, so that the leaves do not look as though they were poured out of one bag.
The model, the baseboard, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
