A photo-etched detail set for the interior of a model of the American North American F-100C Super Sabre fighter-bomber in 1:32 scale, listed as part two. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a plastic model, following on from the basic interior set for the same type. Check the exact make-up of the package against the illustration on the packaging; follow-up parts usually aim at the areas that would not fit into the first package.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was an American single-seat jet combat aircraft with a swept wing and an afterburning turbojet. The F-100C version was a fighter-bomber with a wing adapted to carry fuel, an in-flight refueling probe and underwing pylons. The cockpit of an aircraft of this generation was densely packed with instruments, panels and controls; in the large 1:32 scale a great deal really is visible under the canopy glazing, so the detail is worth it.
Finish the interior before you close the fuselage and fit the canopy. Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends in a bender. Degrease the metal and cover it with a primer, or the paint will flake off during handling. They are glued with cyanoacrylate in tiny drops; use canopy glue on the glazing so that it does not fog. Paint the interior, add a dark wash into the recesses and pick out the edges with gentle drybrushing. Before spraying the exterior, mask the canopy inside and out.
