A modeling item in a fluorescent orange shade, that is in a signal color for warning and highly visible surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fluorescent orange is a signal shade that in daylight looks as if it were glowing of itself. The pigment absorbs part of the radiation at short wavelengths and returns it as visible light, so the surface is conspicuous even at dusk and from a great distance. That is precisely why it is used wherever something is to be seen at first glance.
On aircraft models you will meet it on trainers and rescue machines, on wingtips and tail surfaces, on warning markings and anywhere a machine is to stand out from its surroundings. On military vehicles it serves for warning stripes and for marking places where there is a risk of injury. On a finished model it is a shade that catches the attention at once, so it pays to apply it cleanly and with a straight edge.
Fluorescent shades generally have a lower covering power than ordinary paints, because their pigment is partly translucent. On a dark base they therefore turn gray and lose their effect, whereas on a light base, best of all white, they stand out at full strength. The procedure for applying and any thinning differ with items of this kind, so follow the manufacturer's instructions given on the packaging and try the result on a piece of scrap material first. Count also on fluorescent pigments fading in the light; do not leave a finished model permanently in direct sun.
The item suits modelers who build trainers, rescue equipment or anything with warning markings and need a pronounced signal shade for it, the kind that cannot be replaced with an ordinary orange.
A model, tools and other material are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
