Long tweezers from the American brand Woodland with softly padded tips. They are designed for setting small figures into a finished scene, where there is not enough room for ordinary tweezers.

The worst moment of a diorama comes when everything is finished and a figure two centimeters tall is to be seated in the nook between a building and a tree. Fingers do not fit in there, sharp tweezers shoot the figure off into the carpet and the glue sets in the meantime. This tool came about for exactly such a moment. The arms are unusually long, so they reach into the depth of a scene without the hand demolishing what already stands around it.
The ends are provided with a soft layer which distributes the grip over a larger area. A casting is thereby held more firmly with less force and no dents or scratches in the paint are left on it, which on the thin arms and legs of figures is decisive. The soft surface moreover will not let the figure go even if the hand wavers slightly, and on work above a finished scene that is the most valuable property of all.
It serves just as well when laying down small accessories, that is crates, barrels, traffic signs or benches, and when inserting pieces of growth into grass that has already dried. It also comes into its own on a model railroad, where small scenes are regularly set up on platforms. Anyone building in the larger scales will appreciate it when handling varnished parts, because the padding does not damage a fresh surface. A practical small point in closing: before a figure is seated for good, it pays to stand it dry in the chosen place first and to look at the scene from the height of the viewer's eyes. Shifting it by two millimeters changes the effect of a scene more than the quality of the casting itself.
