A gray shade from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez range, listed under the designation Grey Base. Gray is the most versatile base color in modeling: it is neutral, it does not pull the tone of the covering coat toward the warm or the cool side, and it suits both light and dark shades. The particular use and the recommended procedure are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
A single-color coat unifies a surface where plastic, metal and resin meet, so the final shade looks the same everywhere. At the same time it works as a check on your work: on a uniform surface a scratch, an unsanded joint or a remnant of filler shows up at once, whereas under the covering color it would only appear at the very end. And rich shades that cover poorly on their own hold their tone over a gray base after far fewer coats.
Stir the contents thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom during storage. Thin it with the thinner intended for this range and in the ratio the manufacturer states; another thinner may make the paint curdle. Apply it in several thin coats rather than one heavy one, otherwise the fine engraving and rivets will be filled in. Let each coat dry, and only then apply the next.
Thinner, brushes and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
