GREY BROWN AMT-1 — an acrylic paint from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

A water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint. The designation AMT-1 comes from the Soviet range of aircraft camouflage shades of the Second World War period and is a gray-brown tone that was combined in camouflages with other colors of the same range into softly edged patches. The paint is made specifically for building models, so it mixes without trouble with other acrylics of the same brand and you can mix a lighter variant from it for highlighting surfaces.

Use

• It thins with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same brand; avoid lacquer and nitro thinners.
• For a patched camouflage, spray at lower pressure and from a shorter distance, and the transition will stay soft.
• For a scale effect, lighten the shade with a drop of a light color and overspray the centers of the panels.
• The pigment settles at the bottom, so shake the bottle thoroughly before every use.
• Before decals, go over the area with a varnish compatible with acrylics.

A water base means working without the smell of solvents and washing the tools in water, which modelers working in an apartment will also appreciate.
