GREY SHINE

The color

Grey Shine is a gray shade from the paint range of AMMO of Mig Jimenez. Gray shades are among the most used in modeling: they find a place on aircraft, ships and vehicles and they also serve to lighten other colors, because unlike white, gray does not take the saturation out of a shade. The name Shine refers to the position of the shade within the range; what the manufacturer intends it for and which pair it is used in is stated directly on the packaging.

Application and thinning

The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer, so follow its instructions; with a thinner from another range the paint can curdle. Stir the contents of the bottle well before use, because the pigment settles at the bottom during storage. Work in a well-ventilated space and close the bottle between fillings.

Painting tips

Gray forgives fewer mistakes than bright shades, because unevenness of the surface and an uneven thickness of the spray both show on it.

• Wash the base, degrease it and give it a base coat, otherwise the paint holds badly on smooth plastic.
• Apply thin coats and let each one dry, because a thick coat fills the engraved lines.
• Try the shade on a piece of plastic, because gray looks different every time over a light and over a dark base.
• When mixing it with another color, note down the ratio, or you will not hit the shade again when touching up.
• Unify the finished surface with a varnish in the degree of gloss you want.

Terms of supply

The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, a brush, a model and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
