HG Height Gauge EX is a modeling height gauge with a movable scribing point: with it you scribe a line at a precisely set height above the surface, from the waterline of a ship hull to the color division on the hull of a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precise modeling gauge from the Master Tools tool line. It is neither a kit nor an accessory to a model but a bench tool: you stand the part on a flat board, set the height you want on the gauge and trace a line around the whole part with the point, a line that is the same height above the surface along its whole run. By hand, by eye, an even line like that is practically impossible to make on a curved hull.
For ship modelers, who face the waterline on every hull, and generally for anyone who masks color divisions and wants them at the same height all the way round. It pays off above all for someone who builds regularly, because it is bench equipment for years rather than a one-off accessory for a single box.
Work on a flat and firm surface, ideally on a glass or metal board, because a soft cutting mat will distort the result. Lead the point lightly and rather several times than once with force: an engraved line can be deepened, but a scratch beside it can only be sanded away. Once scribed, the line works excellently as a stop for masking tape. Note down the recommended height setting for repeated projects, as it will save time with the next box.
The scribing point is sharp, so protect your fingers while working and store the tool out of the reach of children. Wipe the point dry after use, so that it does not corrode.
