This item is neither a model nor a set of parts but a tool. It is an aid from the HG Surface Gauge line from the manufacturer Master Tools, that is a scribing gauge. It serves for precise measuring, for transferring dimensions and for guiding a point or a scriber across the surface of a model, that is wherever a straight and repeatable line is needed. The letter E at the end marks the particular version within the line.
Before scribing, clamp or support the part firmly, so that it does not move during the stroke. Never make the line in one heavy stroke: lead the point lightly along the same path several times, so that the engraving deepens gradually and does not slide off to the side. Once it is done, go over the line with fine abrasive paper or a polisher and remove the material pushed up at the edges. Keep the metal surfaces of the aid clean and dry and remove any filler residue, so that it does not scratch the surface of the model.
The tool has sharp edges and points, so work carefully and keep it out of the reach of children. Do not breathe in the sanded and scribed material.
