Golden Flesh is a flesh tone with a golden cast from the IONIC range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The golden cast makes skin warmer and more alive than purely pink tones, which suits figures exposed to the sun and scenes from warm countries in particular. It can be used as the starting color of the whole skin, on which both shadow and highlight are then built.
On a figure, start with a continuous base coat of skin and let it dry thoroughly. Only then add a darker tone into the recesses and a lighter one onto the raised places; that way the face keeps its shape even from the distance at which a figure is usually looked at. Stir the contents of the bottle every time, as the pigment settles at the bottom while it stands and unstirred paint covers unevenly.
Choose the thinner intended for this range and read the thinning ratio on the packaging. Apply the paint in thin coats; a heavy coat clogs the fine relief on a figure and the face then looks like a mask. A flesh shade usually changes slightly once dry, so try it out on a piece of plastic before you cover a whole figure with it. Clean the brush and the container straight after work, as dried paint is considerably harder to remove.
