A modeling paint from the IONIC range by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The shade is listed under the name Malicious Violet. The name points to the saturated, darkly pitched violet that modelers use on sinister and supernatural subjects. Compared with crimson tones it is shifted toward blue, so on a figure it looks cooler.
It comes into its own on fantasy and horror subjects: the cloaks and hoods of villains, magical effects, glowing runes, poisonous pools in a diorama or prominent areas on fantasy machinery. It is also used as a shadow tone under cool blue and purple areas, because it darkens them without pulling them toward gray. It is also good for bringing out eyes and the small details that are meant to catch the eye on a figure.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Saturated violets tend to be translucent, so expect several thin coats and let each one dry; one heavy coat floods a raised surface. On a light base the color comes out brighter; on a dark one it looks more brooding and calm. For an airbrush, thin it with the thinner intended for this range according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and try the ratio out first on a scrap piece of plastic.
It suits modelers of figures and fantasy subjects who want a darkly pitched violet ready to hand rather than mixing it themselves. Wipe the thread after work and close the bottle carefully. The model, brushes, thinner and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
