A mask set for a model of the Chinese fighter Chengdu J-10B in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Chengdu J-10 is a Chinese single-engine multirole fighter with a delta wing and with canards ahead of it. The J-10B form is told from the basic version by the different shape of the air intake under the nose and by the revised nose section. In 1:72 scale the model is small, so crisply sprayed transitions and cleanly covered glazing will do a lot of the work for you.
A template bounds the area exactly where you need it and the color stays part of the finish: it has no carrier film underneath, so once it has dried it makes neither a step nor a glossy rim. That is useful everywhere a decal would have to pass over an edge or over engraving. The extent of the set and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions; go through them before the first coat.
The surface under the template has to be dry, clean and degreased. Press the edges down all around with a blunt wooden stick, so that no paint bleeds under them, and spray thinly in several passes; one heavy coat gets under the edge more easily and leaves a ridge you can feel. With a multicolor finish keep to the order of the coats and let each one dry. Take the template off while the finish is freshly dry and pull it at an angle over the edge, not straight up.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
