Responsibility details are not available.
A bust from the Journeyman Miniatures line with the subject of a shinobi, as a warrior trained for secret tasks was called in Japan; in Europe the word ninja took hold for the same thing. According to the designation of the item the scale is 1:6, that is one sixth of the real size. For busts that is a large format and it means mainly one thing: there is so much room on the head and the shoulders that the painting can be done in real detail, from the structure of the fabric to the highlight in an eye. The number of parts, the design of the plinth and the exact height are not stated here.
Before painting, wash and degrease the bust. Cut away the excess material left from production with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder down. With a large format it pays to work with thinned paint and more layers, because the area is large and every hard transition is seen. Do not base dark fabric in pure black but in a dark blue-gray shade, darken the recesses and draw the edges of the folds out lighter. Leave the face for last and give it the most time, because it is the face that decides the impression of the whole piece of work.
For a collector who wants one striking piece in a display case, and for a modeler with experience of painting, to whom a large area will allow their work with transitions to be shown. As practice it is a rewarding format, but also a merciless one: an unfinished transition has nowhere to hide on it.
Paints, brushes and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
