A universal clamp two hundred millimeters long, intended to hold parts that are to be glued together. The arms can be set so that the clamp grips a part from the outside, or on the contrary spreads an assembly from the inside. On large parts, that is on aircraft fuselages, ship hulls and base boards, holding them for the whole time the glue sets is the only thing that guarantees a straight joint without a gap.
Put a piece of softer material between the jaw and the model, otherwise the clamp will leave an imprint on the plastic. Tighten only as far as the joint seats; too much pressure will bow the fuselage and the gap will open on the opposite side. With a thin cement applied into the seam, it is enough to fit the clamp first and only then let the glue reach the mating surface. Once it is dry, release the clamp slowly and check whether the joint springs back.
On a long joint it pays to have two or three clamps and to space them along its length. A single clamp in the middle grips the joint at one point only and the ends open up.
Keep the clamp out of the reach of children and watch your fingers while tightening it.
