A matte flesh shade from the Italian Lifecolor range in a bottle holding twenty-two milliliters. The paint is acrylic, and therefore water-thinnable, and is applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush. The shade matches number FS 31643 of the American standard, which the manufacturer states on the box and in its own reference material. A matte finish is deliberate on flesh: a sheen on the face of a figure would give away at once that it is plastic.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom. Thinned with water or with the brand's own thinner, the acrylic handles a brush as well as an airbrush, though it needs to be thinned noticeably more for an airbrush than for a brush. On flesh, work in thin coats: a single thick application floods the features of the face and the figure loses its expression. The paint dries fairly quickly, so take only a small amount onto the palette for mixing shades and do not leave the excess in the open air.
