LC39 Matt Artillery Green FS34172

Artillery green FS34172 as the base field

Artillery green is the type of shade a whole scheme unfolds from. On ground vehicles the green field usually covers the largest part of the surface, either as a single-color finish on its own or as the base into which the brown and dark fields are only then set. That is exactly why it pays to give it the most attention: unevenly laid green shows through everything that comes afterwards. The name of the shade gives the number of the American Federal Standard color standard, FS34172, and the matte degree of sheen.

The base field step by step

• Lay the green on in several thin coats over the whole surface, including the roof, the chassis and the inner sides of the fenders.
• Before you put a mask on for the next field, let the area dry out properly, or you risk an imprint.
• Deal with the modulation before the further fields go on, so that the whole surface hangs together, not just one field.
• Green takes later toning with dust and mud well, because it tends to be the largest continuous area of the vehicle.

Who the color is for

For modelers of military vehicles, artillery systems and tractors, and for anyone building a vehicle in a single-color or multicolor scheme with a green base.

Keep the paint out of the reach of children and, when spraying, work in a well-ventilated space.
