Copper on an aircraft always means a detail, not an area. Lifecolor Copper Gloss is a gloss copper metallic shade for the small elements that stand beside matte camouflage.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gloss copper shade with a metallic look from the Lifecolor acrylic range. The degree of sheen is given right in the name; the manufacturer gives no color standard number for this shade, because metal shades are hard to describe in color charts.
The camouflage areas of an aircraft are muted and mostly cool. That is exactly why a warm metal shade on them catches the eye at once, even though it takes up a fraction of the area. On models copper comes into its own on piping and lines in the engine compartment, on parts of exhaust systems, on fittings and accessories in the cockpit, on ammunition and on ground materiel around the aircraft. On the large areas of a wing, by contrast, it is not used; its strength is contrast on a small scale.
The metal pigment settles at the bottom, so the contents should be mixed carefully before work. The result looks best on a smooth base, because every irregularity is picked out in the reflection. Metallic areas are harder to spray over and to mask, which is why they tend to come at the end of the procedure, once the camouflage and the markings are finished. Copper looks natural darkened in the deeper places, where real metal loses its sheen and oxidizes.
For modelers who work out power units and interiors in detail, for figure painters and for diorama builders, where a warm metal suits equipment, tools and technical gear.
Mix the contents thoroughly before use, close the bottle carefully after work and work in a well-ventilated space. Keep out of the reach of children.
