Light green belongs in a scene where full light falls, and with lichen that goes double, because its broken surface scatters light into small highlights. The small bag carries 1.41 dm³ of material, which the manufacturer also states as 86.6 cubic inches. The material is of natural origin, so the shape of the branching differs from piece to piece. Two bags will never be quite the same, which for scenery is an advantage rather than a problem.
The quickest route to a bush runs through a single well chosen piece, which is stood on a wider base and glued. For a tree, join several pieces around a wire armature and fill the gaps with smaller fragments. It is usually good to unify the finished piece with a light coat of thinned paint, because natural material tends to have an uneven shade. Only then comes the turf that gives the foliage its final fineness.
A light shade reveals every drop of excess glue, so use the smallest possible amount and preferably on a hidden spot. Do not press the material against the surface, it loses its depth and looks like a trodden clump. The small fragments that break off during work are useful as undergrowth beneath a bush. Collect them in a dish so they do not get lost among the other material on the bench.
