The light brown tone matches a mixture of two shades listed under the Czechoslovak CSN standard, specifically numbers 2430 and 1010, in a 1:3 ratio. The figure 1:3 in the designation is therefore not a scale but the ratio of the two components. The advantage is that you do not have to mix the paint yourself: the shade is mixed in advance, it is the same in every bottle and it will not shift when you top up in the middle of the work. Mixing two paints by hand rarely comes out exactly the same the second time.
Shades to the CSN standards are at home on vehicles of Czechoslovak manufacture and on machines that were used in Czechoslovakia. In such finishes a light brown tends to be a component of a multi-color camouflage, where it complements the darker brown and green areas. It also comes into its own beyond camouflage, for instance on dusty and abraded surfaces, on wood, on bags and straps or on small equipment in a scene.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, because the pigment settles at the bottom. Apply it in several thin coats instead of one heavy one, so that the fine surface detail is not filled in. The base should be clean, degreased and free of dust; a primer will also even out how absorbent the plastic, the filler and the accessories are. Thinning, cleaning the tools and the spraying pressure follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Give the area under the decals a gloss clear coat, and the final varnish will then even out the result.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, primer, final varnish and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
