A light gray Mr.Paint modeling shade to the Federal Standard 595 system, number FS 36373, intended for spraying with an airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation FS 36373 comes from the Federal Standard 595 system, which describes the shades of finishes on American military equipment. The first digit of the five-digit number gives the degree of gloss, and a three means a matte finish. This is therefore a light gray in a matte rendering. Gray shades from this system come into their own above all on the camouflage of modern military aircraft, where several closely related grays are combined on the fuselage and on the wings.
The shade is from the Mr.Paint line and is ready for spraying with an airbrush. Rich pigmentation lets it cover in several light coats, so the panel lines and scribed detail stay legible under the paint.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles. Spray in thin coats and let the surface become tacky between them; a heavy application fills fine surface detail and then tears when masked. Degrease the model beforehand and lay down a primer, as on bare plastic the shade behaves differently than over an evened-out base. For thinning and for cleaning the airbrush use the thinner the manufacturer recommends for this line.
The package holds the paint. Thinner, primer and spraying equipment are not included, unless stated otherwise.
