Lines Stencils M — fine lines and strips

The smaller variant of the line stencil from Paint Forge. The motif is identical with size L, and the format of the aid is what changes. A smaller stencil comes into its own on parts where a large aid would only get in the way, and in work where a line is not meant to be the main element but only an addition to a surface.

Lines as a weathering tool

A line stencil does not have to be used only for color stripes. When you spray lightly over it with a darker or, on the contrary, a dusty shade in a very thin coat, you get suggested vertical streaking, marks from running water or uneven fading of an area. The essential thing is to apply really little paint — the effect should be barely noticeable and light up only when seen from the side. This method works on containers, on the sheet-metal walls of buildings and on the sides of vehicles.

Where you will use it

• small stripes and markings on smaller models
• suggesting streaking and rain marks on vertical areas
• frames and dividing lines on bases
• supplementary strips on the gear of figures

When to prefer the larger variant

When you need to cross a long area in a single application, say a whole side of a vehicle or a wing, the smaller stencil will force you to put the pattern together in sections and a visible join is a risk. In that case reach for the larger L variant. The smaller format, on the other hand, wins everywhere work goes on in a tight space and handling a large stencil is awkward.

It is an aid for applying paint. Paints and tools are not included in the package.
