LP-37 Light Ghost Gray modeling paint from the Tamiya LP line, a light gray shade for the finishes of modern aircraft and vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
LP-37 Light Ghost Gray is a light, cool gray with no shift toward brown. Shades of this kind are used on the low-visibility finishes of modern combat aircraft, where several close grays are worked together and the transitions between them should be barely noticeable. Light gray is useful outside aircraft models too: on transport vehicles, on small accessories and as a base under thin clear coats that are meant to stay translucent.
Most often it covers the undersides and the lighter fields of two-tone gray schemes, then the inner faces of covers and parts that are meant to stay visually in the background. Because it is a light tone, later shading and panel line emphasis show up beautifully on it; on a dark base, on the other hand, it needs more coats to cover evenly.
Stir the container thoroughly before work, the pigment settles at the bottom and unstirred paint covers unevenly. For the thinner, the thinning ratio and the cleaning of tools follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging and use the thinner intended for this line. Apply it in several light coats and let them flash off between each other, as one heavy coat floods engraved detail. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand. Work in a well-ventilated space and close the container carefully after use so the paint does not thicken.
The package holds the paint itself. Thinner, cleaner, brushes and spraying equipment are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
