The plastic kit MAILeS Reiki Kai from the Japanese brand Bandai. MAILeS is the designation of a class of piloted combat machines from the world of Kyoukai Senki, to which other models from the same world also belong. The suffix Kai in Japanese denotes a modified version of the base type. The plastic is colored right through and the parts snap together, so the build manages without glue and the model has its colors as soon as it is assembled.
MAILeS class machines are conceived in the subject material as mass-production combat equipment. The design therefore works with angular armor panels, exposed joints and muted colors rather than a heroic color treatment. The Kai version is derived from the base machine of the same name; check the actual differences in equipment on the box.
Separate the parts with nippers, preferably a little away from the part, and finish the rest of the gate with a knife or a fine file, so that no light burr is left on the edge. The build requires neither glue nor paints and is quick. For a better result we recommend assembling it dry, breaking it down into subassemblies, degreasing it, applying a base suited to plastic and spraying it section by section. Panel lines, restrained edge chipping and a matte varnish will give a machine with a military treatment real conviction.
The model is assembled by snapping pre-colored parts together. Glue and paints are not needed for the build, and painting is optional.
