MARINE BLUE is a blue shade from AMMO of Mig Jimenez, listed under the manufacturer's part number A.MIG-F518. The name points to the blue that naval schemes carry, so the shade suits carrier aircraft, ship models and anywhere a deep blue surface with no shift toward green is needed.
Blue pigment settles in the bottle, so stir the paint thoroughly before every use and stir it again during work. Apply it in thin coats and let each one dry before the next. One heavy coat floods the detail and dries unevenly, whereas two thin ones follow the shape of the surface. Wash the base beforehand, degrease it and unify it with a primer, otherwise the deep blue will rub off on the edges. The thinner meant for this line and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow those instructions.
A dark blue looks different once dry than it does in the bottle and usually darkens on the model, so try the shade first on a piece of plastic that does not belong to the model. You can liven the surface up by mixing a lighter tone into the blue and brightening the middle of large panels with it, while leaving the edges and shadows in the base shade. Gloss varnish is useful under decals, because on flat blue the edges of the film give themselves away.
Close the bottle carefully after work and wipe its thread, otherwise the paint left on the rim will glue the cap shut in time. The paint is sold on its own. Brushes, thinner, varnish and other modeling supplies do not belong with it, unless stated otherwise.
