The scenic tufts Martian Fluor Tufts - NEO-TITAN ORANGE come from the neon Martian range by Green Stuff World. The NEO-TITAN ORANGE shade is warmer and less rusty than its sister tone NEO-MARS ORANGE, approaching the orange of warning markings. In a scene it therefore looks not like dry grass but like a source of color.
A warm orange tone has one practical function in a scene: it draws the eye. That can be used deliberately. Put the tufts where the viewer should arrive first, that is by the main figure or by a key detail of the scene, and cut them back in the outer parts instead. Against a cool ground such as gray concrete or bluish rock the contrast stands out most strongly. When a scene has several color centers the eye gets lost, so it is better to have one main one and at most one secondary one.
It also pays to check the planting photographically: under a different angle of light the dominance of the orange changes, and what looked balanced on the table may take over in a shot.
The set will appeal to builders of science fiction and industrial dioramas, to players who unify a detachment by the color of its bases, and to modelers who want to influence the composition of a scene by color and not by shape alone.
How the shade looks in a photograph depends on the lighting and may differ from reality.
