What the set contains

Masking stencils for spraying stars. The name sets the size range of 12 to 16 millimeters, and the set belongs to a range divided precisely by the size of the elements, so alongside this package there is a smaller range and a larger one. The number of pieces on the sheet is stated on the manufacturer's packaging.

Why spray instead of using a decal

A sprayed marking is part of the finish, so no glossy edge of carrier film is left behind and you do not have to deal with a softener or with settling on rounded surfaces. A stencil also keeps the same shape and the same sharp edge on every star on the model, which is hard to manage by hand.

How to work with the masks

• the surface under the mask has to be finished, dry and degreased, otherwise the paint will creep under
• place the mask before spraying, not onto the dried top color
• spray perpendicular to the surface, in thin coats and rather dry, so that the paint does not get under the edge
• lift the stencil off shortly after the paint has set, not after several days, when the edge tears
• check the edge of the marking against the light once it is off; slight seepage can be repaired with a brush

For the modeler who sprays with an airbrush and wants the markings in one surface with the rest of the finish. Compare the size with your subject: the set is defined by a range in millimeters, not by one particular scale, so what decides is how large the marking should be on the finished model.
