MDF Movement Trays 25mm x10 - Skirmish

MDF Movement Trays 25mm x10 - Skirmish

A Green Stuff World gaming tray in the Skirmish version, intended for figures on bases designated 25mm. The x10 figure is part of the name and sets it apart from the smaller version of the same sub-range. The abbreviation MDF is given in the name itself. It is not a display base for a cabinet but an aid with which a group of figures moves across the playing area at once.

Loose spacing instead of a close block

The Skirmish version differs from the regular grid trays in that the figures do not stand tight against each other. Space is left between the positions, so the unit does not look like a close formation but like a group advancing more loosely. That matches the style of games where the fighting is not done in ranks, and at the same time it solves a practical problem: figures with sweeping poses, cloaks or outstretched weapons catch on each other in a tight grid. Looser spacing gives them the room they need, and you do not have to try turning them as you set them out.

What it is suited to

• for figures that get in each other's way in a tight layout
• when a group should look like a loose advance rather than a block
• for moving and carrying a whole group in one motion
• as the larger version alongside the smaller one of the same sub-range

Who it is for

For players of skirmish games and smaller engagements, who work with groups of a few figures each. Before buying, check the size of your bases; the layout is prepared for the measurement given in the name.
