Work tips

Work with sharp tweezers and over a tray with a raised rim, because parts of this size are easily lost. Level the original head with a scalpel and sand the surface gently so that the new head sits straight. Fit them with cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a wire, as a drop from the bottle is needlessly large for a joint this small. Apply a primer before painting, which draws the small heads together with their surroundings and brings out their outline. Once painted, a dark wash helps, settling around a head and giving it a three-dimensional look.
