Where precision matters it does the work of both cutters and a knife: it cuts thin plastic, cleans up the remains of sprue gates, scrapes flash off mold seams and trims masking tape and decal film. The thin handle is held like a pen, so it is visible where the point is going.

It pays to keep spare blades in stock as well, because it is the cleanness of the cut that decides how much work is left for sanding.
