Ten pieces mean you do not have to be sparing and can reach for a clean one for every shade. That saves time on cleaning and above all it protects the shade: a residue of the previous color can shift a new tone noticeably, and with light opaque paints you will see it in the very first coat. It equally pays to keep the aids for paints separate from those for degreasers or thinners.
Stir the paint in the bottle thoroughly before taking any out; the pigment settles at the bottom and badly stirred paint covers unevenly. Mix shades on a palette, never directly in the storage bottle. Open the container only for as long as necessary; paint dries on the rim and the cap then stops sealing. After work, clean the aids with the thinner intended for that range of paints while the paint is still wet; once dry it is considerably harder to remove.
